Charity & Community Outreach

Charity & Community Outreach

Each year the Oakland County Bar Association New Lawyers Committee chooses a charity to advocate for and to whom it dedicates the proceeds of its fundraising efforts. Listed below are the check presentations made at previous Annual Tigers Outing to some of the great charities with which the committee has had the privilege of working.

The NLC is pleased to announce that the Jacqueline E. Bayley Foundation will be the recipient of their 2013-2014 fundraising efforts. The mission of the Jacqueline E. Bayley Foundation is to raise awareness for and support research of ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of gynecologic cancers and a leading cause of cancer-related death in women. Due to the lack of an early detection test, less than 20 percent of ovarian cancer is diagnosed early, when it is most treatable. For this reason, increased awareness and advocacy is critical.
