THE 2009-2010 YEAR IN REVIEW:
The Oakland County Bar Association New Lawyers Committee was hard at work fundraising and advocating for their chosen charity of the year, the Oak Park Business & Education Alliance. The organization provides career-focused education programs to students that are considered "at risk" within Oakland County school districts.
Summer Splash
The committee held its first fundraising event of the year at TreMonti's in Troy, Michigan, on August 27th, 2009, to educate and inform attorneys about the OPBEA and to provide networking opportunities. With numbers boasting over 100 registrants the committee raised $865 for the OPBEA.

5th Annual Bowling Challenge
On Friday, March 5, 2010, the New Lawyers Committee and the OCBA Board of Directors competed in the 5th Annual Bowling Challenge at Thunderbird Lanes in Troy. The two teams put on the high-fashion rented neon shoes and went pin-for-pin in this lighthearted annual event. For the second year in a row, the Board of Directors delivered an upset to the New Lawyers Committee. In addition to the fun and friendly competition, the event raised a whopping $544 for Oak Park Business & Education Alliance!

12th Annual Meet the Judges
The Meet the Judges Party is the OCBA New Lawyers Committees largest annual fundraising event. It is one of the year's best opportunities to network with other Oakland County lawyers and get to know Oakland County Judges on a more personal level. The event was held on May 20, 2010, at the Iroquois Club in Bloomfield Hills. For the 8th year, the NLC included a silent auction to raise funds for the charity. And for the first time ever, the event included a live auction! The two auctions combined raised nearly $3,000!
