NEW LAWYER ADMISSION CEREMONY

The Oakland County Bar Association will hold its spring 2013 Lawyer Admission Ceremony with judges sitting en banc, Chief Judge Nanci J. Grant presiding.

A completed registration form IS REQUIRED for new admittees to participate in the ceremony.

The Registration Form must be received no later than
5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29
if you wish to participate in the May 31 ceremony.

When You Register - what to bring and what to expect:

• Bring your ORIGINAL (not a copy) letter of certification (if you want a copy, make it prior to ceremony as there is no copy machine available & you cannot keep original)
• Have a sponsor. Your sponsor must be licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan. If you do not have a sponsor, the OCBA will provide one for you.
• Bring a check (or cash) for $25, payable to the Oakland County Clerk, the day of the ceremony. 
• Arrive 1 hour before the ceremony for registration, which will be held in the auditorium. 
• Deactivate any cell phones or pagers during formal court proceedings.
• Please limit guests to three people; children are discouraged from attending and must be supervised at all times.
• The Court will permit cameras only for the Lawyer Admission Ceremony.
• After the ceremony, staff from the Clerk’s Office will be present to assist you with filing your papers.

The OCBA offers a complimentary membership for new admittees
good through June 30, 2015.

Please complete the Member Profile Sheet and hand it to an OCBA representative at the swearing-in ceremony.
