Oakland County Bar Association's
NEW LAWYERS COMMITTEE
The New Lawyers Committee (NLC) is comprised of all OCBA members who have been practicing for 10 years or less. The purpose of the NLC is to conduct social and business networking programs of value and interest to committee members, raise funds and awareness for local charities, and encourage outreach and involvement within the community.
The NLC is a great opportunity to get out and network within the legal community and have a good time while doing it. The NLC meets monthly (both at the OCBA and off-site locations) for food, drink, conversation and conducting the business of the committee.
In addition to monthly meetings, there are numerous social events throughout the year:
Summer Splash (a summertime cocktail mixer to kick off the year)
Novemberfest (a fall get-together to start the holiday season)
Annual Bowling Challenge (the NLC takes on the OCBA’s Board at the local lanes)
Meet the Judges Party (an opportunity to rub elbows with local circuit and district court judges)
248 v 586 Challenge (OCBA New Lawyers take on the Macomb County Bar Association Young Lawyers in an exciting sporting event) and
Annual Tigers Outing.
All of these events are largely social coupled with fundraising for the New Lawyers' selected charity.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Cat Neal at (248)334-3400 or firstname.lastname@example.org for meeting information.
