Course Description:  Appeals in criminal cases are not uncommon, but can be dismissed quickly if the record is not properly preserved. Trial attorneys must concentrate on winning their case at trial while at the same time ensuring the case can go to an appeals court if necessary.  Topics of discussion will include:

  • Recognizing and anticipating problems with your case

  • Making timely objections

  • The rules of evidence - what's appealable and what's not
