In this interactive session relating to Unlocking Issues Affecting Key Employees and Their Employers Under the FMLA, presenters Daniel A. Gwinn and Laura Bradshaw-Tucker will examine the FMLA’s requirements for addressing key employees in a case study that highlights select relevant issues for both employers and employees. The discussion will include the following issues:
- Is the employee a “key” employee?
- Voluntary and involuntary leave under the FMLA
- FMLA/ADA intersection once FMLA has expired
- Setting terms for a key employee’s return to work
- Can’t live without them, or can’t afford to take bring back?
Daniel A. Gwinn is Senior Partner at Gwinn Tauriainen PLLC where he focuses his practice on employment law and litigation. He is a regular conference presenter and published author of numerous articles on employment issues. His extensive background includes litigation at the state and federal level for both employers and employees. He is a member of the Employment and LGBTQA sections of the State Bar.
Laura Bradshaw-Tucker is an associate at Gwinn Tauriainen PLLC. She is a member of the Employment Law and Criminal Law sections of the Oakland County Bar Association and the Employment Law section of the State Bar. An attorney with more than 20 years of experience in appeals, and a former reporter, Laura is also a freelance editor of books, articles, and blogs.
