Course Description: This fast-paced presentation will cover the differences between state courts and the federal criminal practice. Topics will include:

  • Resources available to federal prosecutors
  • Rule 11 Plea Agreements 
  • Number of cases pled and importance of cooperation from the early stages of trial
  • Differences in federal and state trials, including rules of evidence
  • Sentencing guidelines 
  • Mitigation and Sentencing Memorandums
  • Immigration issues

Participants will receive one credit toward criminal assignment requirements.
