On Friday, September 25, from 9:15 – 11:00 am the OCBA is hosting two renown psychologists who specialize in veterans issues, Dr. Julie Wargo Aikins and Dr. Deane Aikins as part of our Pro Bono Mentor Match Program expansion. Whether you are interested in the Pro Bono Mentor Match Program, or an established practitioner, you are welcomed to attend this presentation!
The Aikins have extensive experience working with veterans around issues of combat stress disorders and the impact of deployment and re-entry on families and children. Dr. Julie Wargo Aikins is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and a member of the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute at Wayne State. Dr. Deane Aikins is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and a Research Scientist at the VA Detroit Medical Center. He holds adjunct faculty positions in the Translational Neuroscience Program and the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute at Wayne State.
