    COURSE DESCRIPTION

This seminar will address the rights of employers and employees with regard to the employee's speech outside the workplace. Where is the line between what is protected speech and what is not? And, is there a difference between public and private employers? Employment attorneys - and lawyers facing these issues among their own staff - will learn whether speech (such as on social media) is protected and what types of adverse employment actions may be taken against employees for political speech or political viewpoints.
