Sustaining members are critically important to the Oakland County Bar Association, allowing us to offer exemplary services to our members through implementation of new technology. Please consider joining this elite group of members to help us enhance OCBA member services!
With your support this year, we are working on bringing interactive professional development programs to you and are working hard to offer a new OCBA learning curriculum with the ability to view videos online. This system will allow members to select videos to watch, pay for them, receive credit and print their own confirmation to return to the court if needed. These credits will be tracked in a member’s profile that can be accessed at anytime from anywhere. We also hope to update the equipment in the CLE room to make all of this possible. Your additional contribution as a sustaining member will allow us to continue in this endeavor.
Past support of sustaining members enabled us to launch a listserv for solo/small firm practitioners, upgrade our publishing software and hardware, install wireless internet in meeting rooms and upgrade our telephone system. This past year, we were able to launch a new membership database and website!
In the past 20 years, the OCBA has only raised dues $20. While we are careful stewards of your investment in the association, we simply do not have the funding available to stay up-to-date with needed technology developments and infrastructure improvements. Your extra commitment to your bar association through sustaining member dues allows us to offer services that will make your membership even more enjoyable.
As a Sustaining Member, you will receive special recognition at various OCBA events, your name will be listed on the website and periodically in LACHES, and you’ll be invited to attend an exclusive recognition event in the fall.
