Mentor Program

Build Your Future with the Guidance of Experience—Or Become the Guide You Once Needed
The OCBA Mentor Program connects early-career attorneys with seasoned practitioners who provide invaluable support during the formative stages of legal practice. But mentorship is not just a gift to the mentee—it’s an opportunity for experienced attorneys to invest in the future of the profession, deepen their own perspective, and give back in a meaningful way.

Mentors serve as advisors, sounding boards, and role models, helping mentees grow in skill, confidence, and professionalism. Clients benefit from this collaboration too, gaining from the combined knowledge and insight of two dedicated advocates.

Pro Bono Mentor Match

The OCBA’s Pro Bono Mentor Match program gives early-career attorneys the opportunity to develop real-world legal experience by taking on pro bono cases with the support of a dedicated mentor. For experienced attorneys, it’s a chance to pass on vital courtroom knowledge while helping someone in need.

This program pairs newer lawyers with veteran attorneys to jointly serve clients in cases such as no-asset divorces, landlord-tenant disputes, expungements, and debt-related matters. These are small cases with life-changing impacts—and an ideal training ground for new lawyers. Mentors can offer as much guidance as they’re able, including reviewing documents, advising on legal strategies, or even appearing in court with the mentee.
