professional development and continuing legal education seminars
Because learning doesn't stop after law school, the OCBA's Professional Development Committee strives to offer over 30 exciting and interesting professional development seminars and events each year to improve the practice of law. From required continuing legal education to updates and best practices in a variety of areas to training on how to better manage your firm, you'll want to attend several throughout the year. Best of all, OCBA members get special reduced rates on all OCBA seminars.

Committee meeting speakers & hot topics
Attendance at OCBA committee meetings are a great way to expand your expertise in that area of practice or to learn about a new area. Committee meetings often feature expert speakers on a particular topic that is currently impacting that area of practice, or the meetings will have focused discussions on a hot topic. Through these discussions, committee members share best practices, tips and resources.
Upcoming speakers at committee meetings are listed on our calendar of events and committee meetings are open to all OCBA members.
Developing future leaders in the law begins with the OCBA. The OCBA offers a variety of leadership roles on committees or on the OCBA board of directors that help members become more strategic thinkers, collaborators, coaches and change agents. They also provide members with cross-functional knowledge and perspective and financial acumen that carry with them throughout their careers.
We encourage every member to not only attend events, meetings and seminars, but to be actively involved. If you are looking for ways to be more involved, contact Katie Tillinger, Deputy Director - Membership.
