MIDC Training

The OCBA is pleased to be the sole provider of continuing legal education classes for attorneys accepting criminal defense appointments in Oakland County Circuit and district courts.

Under Standard One set forth by the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission (MIDC), appointed counsel must complete continuing legal education training annually. Attorneys with over two years of criminal defense experience must complete 12 hours of training. Attorneys with less than two years of experience must complete 16 hours of skills training. The OCBA will provide this training free of charge to attorneys serving indigent clients in Oakland County.

The OCBA will offer live and virtual training. For any questions regarding training, contact Cristin Doble.
