Frances R. Avadenka Memorial Award

Established: April 8, 1987
Purpose: The award is named in memory of Frances R. Avadenka, the Oakland County Bar Association’s first female President. Ms. Avadenka died while in office, in January 1987. Ms. Avadenka was well known for her significant contributions to the community and her commitment to volunteerism.
Awarded: Annually at the OCBA Annual Meeting

- Individual has made great contributions to the community outside of the legal profession
- Is a legal professional
How to Nominate: Letter of nomination inclusive of nominee’s activities
Selection Process: The family of Hon. Edward Avadenka selects the award recipient from the nominations submitted
