Allene and Martin Doctoroff Liberty Bell Award

Established: 1983
Purpose: The Liberty Bell Award is an achievement award that was initiated by the American Bar Association. The OCBA adopted the Liberty Bell Award in 1983. The award is made to an individual whose community activity has strengthened the American system of freedom under the law. The award offers public recognition for promoting a better understanding of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and encourages greater respect for the law and the courts. This award honors those who stimulate a deeper sense of individual responsibility to the end that citizens recognize their duties and their rights.
Awarded: Annually at the OCBA Annual Meeting
Criteria: Individual’s profession is outside of the legal arena
How to Nominate: Letter of nomination inclusive of nominee’s activities
Selection Process: The PALS Committee selects the award recipient from nominations that have been submitted.
